ENTERTAINMENTS.
ROYAL PICTURES. The tallest and the shortest comedians in pictures provide many laughs in “Chip of the Plying U,” to he screened at the Royal Theatre to-night, starring Hoot Gibson. The comedians are well known to all: Mark Hamilton and “Pee Wee” Holmes. A good night’s entertainment, ami there is an extra. Miss Morgan’s, pupils will give an exhibition of fancy dancing. Besides this there is a rattling good comedy entitled “Say it Wfitli Love.” On Monday night “Rainbow Riley” will lie presented, starring the inimitable Johny Hines at the head of a powerful cast. Lovers of sensations will also lind much to appreciate in the amazing stunts performed by Hines , in this picture. Qn Wednesday night the great “Romola” will be screened. Mrs L. Bullard and Mr Taylor will appear in a prologue from “11 Travatore.” Prices are 1/- and 1/6, children half price). Patrons are advised to book their seats early for this big special. “THE OUTSIDER.” The final picture to be screened in the temporary Town Hall is “The Outsider,” heading to-night’s programme. The story deals with the mysterious power of a gypsy over a famous English dancer, and the use of his power in ruining; the girl and later in mending her existence. There are many exciting episodes in the film and the scenic settings are notewrothy as is the cast headed by Lou Tellegen and Margaret Livingstone. A Van Bibber comedy “The Feud” and the latest Fox News completes the programme to be screened at usual prices. Notable bookings for early screening in the new Town Hall are Zanc Grey’s “The Thundering Herd,” Tom Mix’s 1926 special “My Own Pal,” and Richard Dix in “Please get Married.”
