BAND OF HOPE.
The combined Band of Hope monthly meeting was held in the Presbyterian Sunday Schoolroom last night. The meeting was opened with Iho temperance 1 hymn, and the Rev. Peryman led the children in prayer. There was a splendid attendance and as it was the last meeting of the year, the children submitted a lengthy programme. A welcome was extended to Miss Bradshaw’, travelling organiser, of the W.C. T.U., and she kindly delivered a most interesting address on bees, which was listened to very attentatively by the children. Miss Bradshaw also delighted the children with a nursery rhyme song. Miss T. Hughes contributed a much appreciated song to the programme. The following children also assisted with items:—Rosie Alunn, piano solo; Horace and Phyllis Tongs, piano duel; Molly Downes and Myrtle Hughes, piano duet; Joan Cowley piano solo; Mollie Downes, Veda Barron, songs; Keith and Nancy Chrystall vocal duet; Margaret Barron and Rosie Alunn, vocal duet. Arthur and Gordon Stone, Aland and Madge King, Aliriam and Wilfred Syinon, Fred Wallis, Ron AfcEwen, Allan MeKnight, Eileen Leech, Joan and Shirley Barron, Frances Good (2), Joyce Bimmer (2), Alay AlcKnight, and Alyrtle Hughes all contributed recitations. Airs (Capt.) Stone led the children in a temperance chorus, which was sung very heartily ond concluded the- meeting w’ith prayer. An abundant and ' tasty supper wrns then handed round by members of the W.C.T.U. and the children were dis missed shortly after 9 p.m.
