SWIMMING BATHS CARNIVAL.

At the time of going to press the position of the flags indicate the position of the candidates as follows: —-Fibre, Citizens, Sports. The winner of the shoes, given by M. Ruffell, was Miss Rose Holden, Shannon. Shop days were held on Saturday by the committees of the three queen candidates. Thanks are due to those who helped to make each one a financial success, and by so doing, helping a good cause. Competitions by the Fibre Committee drawn for were won by the following :—Mrs Mattar, plate; B. E. Hewitt, vases; J. Broad, fowls; East, cardigan; W. 11. Hickson silk shirt; Tui Carter, dinner; Airs VV. dagger, All’s P. Syrnes, Air H. Hutchins, and Air R. Heath, each a quarter of lamb; Aliss E. Aloore, silk stockings; W, Prew, cake. Citizens: W. Symonds, dinner; Bonnie Evans doll; Aliss S. Aloore, cushion; Alias Cummerfield, tea set; Aliss Cummerfield, marabout; C. Cummerfield and Airs Newth, sheep (45i lbs.). Sports: AH Hutchins tea set; AH’s Delany, nut dishes; AHss Eder, cups and saucers; AH Hutchins, iced cake; AH’ Scott, wheelbarrow; A. O’Reilly, cigarettes; AH Lingard, mg; AH’s E. 'Cotter, brushes. A euchre party was held in Grady's rooms on Monday night, for the Citizens’ Queen candidate. First prizes were won by AHs Williams and AH’ Williams; seconds by Mrs Byne and AH’ Brown. Points prizes for the season were won by Airs Smith and Mr Vertongeu. The Sports Committee held a very successful concert and dance al Orouft Downs last night. The Aiaori performers provided the items and received a great ovation. After the concert the hall was cleared and dancing indulged in until a late. hour. An enjoyable time was spent by all present. The executive wish it to be known that the -Carnival closes on Tuesday 23rd November, at 7.45 p.m. Anyone who has not contributed to this worthy cause will have an opportunity of doing so up to that date. Donations can be given to Queens, or sent direct to the organiser (AHs Pearson).
