* HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 20th inst., reads: “Hemp, Manila market firm. ‘J’ grade No-vember-January shipments sold up to £4B; Sisal market firmer, with little better demand. No. 1 Tanganyika, November-January shipments quoted at £43. The New Zealand market is firm but quiet with No-vember-January shipments quoted sellers Wit £3B 10/-; fair afloat sold £36 5/-; November-January shipments £36. Stocks in Great Britain on the 31st October were 21 tons, against 133 tons tor the same time last year.”
