THE SUMMER FLOWER SHOW.

TEMPORARY TOWN HALL, THURSDAY. On Thursday the Foxton Horticultural Society’s summer show will be opened at 3 p.m. by All’ J. Linklater, M.P., in the temporary Town Hall. The entries will be taken tomorrow (Wednesday) upstairs at Ross's roomsj from 3 to 5 and 7 to 8 p.m. All who possibly can, are asked to attend early in the afternoon, to avoid an evening rush. The committee hope that the entries will come in as usual in spite of the weather. All will stand the same chance against the weather. Contributions to the cake stall will be gratefully received by Mrs lieasman or the secretary. The following stewards will receive the exhibits for the respective stalls on Thursday morning at the temporary Town Hall: — Roses and Novice Class: Airs Downes and Airs Alurphy; Sweet. Peas: Miss Speirs and Mrs Ogilvy; cut blooms: Airs Baker and Airs C. Edwards; decorative: Aliss Neylon; cookery: Airs F. Proctor and Aliss Gower; fruit, vegetables, and pot plants: Messrs Whibley and Nye; birds’ eggs: AfrJVlurphy. Winners of prize money are reminded that payment will be made on Saturday, December 4th, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ross’s rooms and not on Saturday, November 2 1 th, as stated on the schedule. Exhibitors arc asked to supply bottles for their collections as the Society may be short' of vases. The President requests as many of the committee as possible, to be at the temporary Town Hall at 10 p.m. to-morrow (Wednesday) to assist with preparing'the-hall for the staging of exhibits. If there is a good muster this work will only take a minute or so to complete. A special programme has been arranged to entertain patrons at the Show during the evening. Among those giving items are Mrs R. Stephenson, of Ashburton, and Airs Corn and Air Taylor.
