HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
Schedules and entry forms may be obtained from the business premises of Mr J. Walls and Mr Grady. The cookery section has some good prizes. For Mr Whitehead’s special (recipe given) the first prize is 10/tQ second a two pound tin of tea from Mr Bauekham, and the third prize is 2/6. The rich fruit cake (recipe given) has prizes of 10/6, 5/-, and 2/6. \Ye hope there will he more entries for vegetables this show. Foxton soil produces early vegetables. There is Mr Gower’s two guineas to lie divided amongst those who bring their collections of blackbirds’, thrushes’, and sparrows’ eggs. Collectors are asked to thread the eggs in strings of 50 each, for convdniencc in counting. Last year there were 3,437. eggs handed in. Note special 91. On Saturday this week the C. M. Ross Cov., are holding their annual Rose Show. Send along your best bloom before 10 o’clock. No entry fee. Prizes: —9/-, 6/6, 4/6.*
