WATCHES HUSBAND AND CHILDREN DROWN.
NEW SOUTH WALES TRAGEDY.
Sydney, Oct. 25
When returning from a boating excursion near Eden, John Davidson, his wife and three children, were crossing the bar of the Kiah river, when the boat capsized. Davidson put 1 his wife and two children on the upturned boat, and attempted to rescue the other child, but the effort was futile. Davidson was overcome by he waves, sank and was drowned.
The boy, aged 11, whom he was trying to save, was also drowned, and while the father was absent from the upturned boat, the girl, aged three, was washed off and disappeared. The three bodies have not been recovered. Mrs Davidson’s screams attracted the attention of men at a whaling station at Eden, and a whaleboat rescued her and her little daughter.
