HOROWHENUA CRICKET COUNCIL

ANNUAL MEETING,

The Horowhenua Cricket Association held its annual meeting in Levin on Monday evening, Mr F. S. Simcox occupying the chair. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron: Mr P. Simeox; president: Mr F. S. Simcox; vice-presidents: Messrs F. tludson, Mr Stewart (Otaki), Mr L. W. Fletcher, Mi- Beckett (Paraparaumu), and Tongs (Foxton); secre-tary-treasurer: Mr J. Langejan; selector: Mr C. Bennett. Messrs J. Casey and F. Hudson are to watch the interests of the schools in relation to the O’Connor trophy. The financial report showed a small balance in hand with which to commence the season’s operations. It was decided to open the season •on the 30th of October, three rounds to be played. The following teams have been selected to represent Town and Flaxmills respectively in a game to be played on Easton Park at 2.30 on Saturday. Town: —Hirini, B. Taylor, Hinds, Scott, Reay, Blanchette* A. Walls, W. Newth, T. Fuller, J. Madden, Barnett, B. Wright, I. Wright. Flaxmills: —Howe, H. Taylor, B. Newth, G. Westwood, L. Mohekey, C. Anderson, T. Morgan, W. Nye, G. King, W. McKnight, N. Westwood, E. Robinson, and Palii.
