THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE
The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 2nd inst., reads: Hemp, Manila market dull and closed firmer. “J” grade, October-December shipments sold at £44, and now quoted at £44 10/-. Thq Sisal market is easy. No. 1 Kenya and Tan gnnyika afloat sold at £4l 10/ . The New Zealand market is dull and high points not wanted. Small sales are reported in fair at £34. The demand is principally for common, rejected and tow. Small business has been done with Septembcr-Nov-ember and October-December shipments with common at £32, rejected £3l to £3l 5/-, and No. 3 tow at £23.
