SWIMMING BATHS CARNIVAL
This evening, in the Royal Theatre, the Rauknwa Maori Entertainers wil submit a concert under the auspices of the Fibre Queen Committee. The public can depend on this being an excellent evening’s entertainment.
A five hundred evening will be held in Perreau’s rooms to-morrow evening for the Citizens’ Queen candidate. v The Citizens’ Committee will hold a shop day on Saturday. The results of the Fibre Queen’s shop day competitions held last Saturday, are as follows: —Dog, Miss Little; string of beads: Miss M. Blanche; handkerchief sachet, Joyce Fuller; jugs: Miss D. Cliesham; half sheep: Mr G. Woods: doulton bowl: Mrs A. Baker; square cake: Miss D. Desmond; round cake: Mr McPherson; bantams Miss E. Moore; cushion: Mrs C. Fuller; cigarettes: Mr C. Burling; dinner: Mr T. Ellers; supper: Mr J. Walls. A euchre party was held on Tuesday night for the Fibre Queen candidate, and was attended by a large number. Honours Cor prizes for the ladies proved a draw, the prizes for first and second being equally divided between Mrs Small and Airs G. Walls. The gents’ first prize went to Mr Olsen, and second to Mr Holland.
A euchre parly was held in Perreau’s rooms for the Sports Queen candidate on Wednesday evening. A large number of people were in attendance. The prize were won as follows: Ladies: Mrs Bryant first, Jfrs Beard, second; gents: Mr T; Sutton, first, and Mr Williams second.
