ENTERTAINMENTS.

“7 KEYS TO BALDPATE.” Douglas Maclean is an author in ' his latest picture “7 Keys to Baldpate,” screening at the Town Hall to-morrow evening. Because he was too interested writing love messages to his publisher’s daughter he forgot that her father had a prior claim on his writing ability. He was a book due the next day under contract. So Douglas picked a nice quiet place to write<the book in the twenty four hours that were left. But seven other villians had keys to the same quiet spot so he wasn’t left in peace and you will have the laugh of your life -when you see the “7 Keys to Baldpate.” Other films are “A hard hearted Husband,” (comedy), Travel and 'News. Usual Prices. On Friday evening only, Robert Keables’ “Recompense” will be screened. ROYAL PICTURES. “Shore Leave,” the new Richard Barthelmess production which will be screened at the Royal Theatre on Wednesday is a delightfud comedy novelty. The picture is based upon the Broadway stage hit by Hubert Osborne, and portrays the romance of a harum-scarum young sailor, “Bilge” Smith, and a little dressmaker, Connie Martin, of a small New England seacoast town. Aside from being a distinct film novelty, “Shore Leave” provides a remarkable comedy characterisation for Dick. It has been pronounced one of his best performances. This is saying a lot, when his fine range of characterisations • are considered. Here Barthelmess proves that he is a romantic comedian of striking attainments.

The newest Marshall Neilan production, “The Sporting Venus,” a Metro-Goldwyn picture, will be screened at the Royal Theatre on Friday. The featured players are Blanche Sweet, Ronald CoLnan and Lew Cody. Drama, thrill and humour are the main elements of the picture.
