W.C.T.U

The monthly meeting of the local branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in the Methodist schoolroom on . Tuesday afternoon,, presided over by the President (Mrs Peryman). A resolution was carried regretting the departure from Foxton of Mrs, McDonald (vice-president) and placing on record appreciation of her services during the past four years and expressing the hope that Mrs McDonald would continue her services in the union at Pahiatua. On the motion of the President it was decided to forward a copy of the resolution to the Pahiatua branch of the W.C.T.U. Regret was expressed at the unavoidable absence of Mrs McDonald from the meeting, owing to indisposition, as it was the intention of members to present Mrs McDonald with a small token of esteem. Mesdames Chrystall and Rimmer were deputed to wait on Mrs McDonald,, and convey the gift to her, and to express the hope for a speedy recovery from her indisposition.
