CARNIVAL NOTES.

The carnival to raise funds for public swimming baths is now fairly launched. The four queen candidates have formed their committees and each have arranged special stunts and competitions to pick up the needful. The organiser, Airs Pearson, is keeping in touch with all committees and will have her hands full for some time to come. A glance at the carnival advertisement will indicate coining events. A silver-coin collection will he taken up at the gate at the racecourse to morrow in aid of tho sports queen candidate, when tho Foxton and Levin tradesmen try conclusions. The “Duffers’ Concert,” to be held in the Arasonie Tlall on Friday night, should fill the hall to its utmost capacity. The concert will he preceded by a torchlight procession, headed by the Band. The admission is 2/- and 1/-, children half-price. Those taking part in the programme except in one or two instances, will he “artists” who have not previously appeared before the foot lights. Prizes will he awarded to those taking part according to merit. At the conclusion supper will be dispensed. MOUTOA HALL CARNIVAL. Further particulars in connection with events in connection with the Alnutoa Hall Carnival are advertised in this issue.
