The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the sth inst., reads: Hemp, Manila market quiet and barely steady. “J” grade, June-August shipments sold at £36; Sisal slow, No. 1 Tanganyika afloat Continent sold £4l los with a tendency downward. New Zealand market \eiy quiet With high points afloat, sold at £35 10s and easier tendency. Value to-day £35, fair £33 JuneAugust shipments.
