AMATEUR CYCLE CLUB.

GENERAL MEETING. A genera] meeting of the Eoxton Amateur Cycle Club was held in Messrs Toms garage on -Tuesday night. There was a good attendance presided over by the President (M. E. Perreau, Esq). CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows : From Mi 1 . J. Linklater, M.P., accepting the position of Patron to the club and enclosing donation of £2 2/-. —Received with thanks. From the Manawatu Sub-Centre, congratulating the members on the formation of a cycle club locally. Also pointing out that if application is made to the centre for numbers, together with 1/(5 for each, competitor, registration would bo attended to and calico numbers forwarded. A copy of the local rules was also asked for for affiliation purposes. A change in the colours selected for the local club was also suggested. It was decided that the local colours be plain white singlet with four inch black band. The club rules as drawn up by the committee were then read and adopted. They were, in main, the same as set out by the New Zealand Amateur Cycle Association. Mr. Smith reported that. Mr. Cough trey had donated a silver cup to the club to the value of £8 8s Od, to become the property of the winner of two consecutive races or three at intervals. Details in connection with the forthcoming road race were dealt with. It was decided that the five mile be commenced at 2 p.m.; the one mile at 2.45 p.m. and the three mile at 3.30 p.m. The one mile and three mile races to be run round the Johnston and Main St. block. The five mile race will be round the cemetery block. Air. E. Parkin was elected starter. Messrs. G. F. Smith, Little and Billings were elected a committee to do the handicaping. It was also decided that the Coughtrey Cup be for the five mile race and that a medal also accompany the cup. Entries are to close on 29th May. Entrance fees are as follows: Five mile race 9d; three mile fid, one mile 3d.
