FREEMASONRY.

The Installation ceremony of the local Masonic Lodge took place yesterday afternoon, when Wor. Bro. G. Alexander was re-installed as W.M. and the investiture of his officers took place. The Installing Master was R. Wor. Bro. J. A. Nash, assisted by other Grand Lodge Officers.

In the evening a most enjoyable and largely attended social took place. The hall was charmingly decorated with greenery, appropriate emblems and numerous miniature coloured electric globes beneath a festoon of coloured streamers. The decorations were the work of Bro. Jack, of Levin, who was warmly congratulated upon his artistic skill. Visiting brethren from sister lodges were in attendance with their lady friends and a most enjoyable time was spent, old-time dances being a feature of the gathering. Songs were acceptably rendered by Mrs Yeo, It. Wor. Bro. Perrett and Bro. Linklater, choruses by the brethren and a recitation by Wor. Bro. P. McKenzie. Welcome speeches were delivered by the W.M., R. Aor Bros. Nash and Perrett. Wor. Bro. Cowley was made the recipient of a travelling rug from the local lodge on the occasion of his visit to the old Country. The presentation was made in an appropriate manner by Wor. Bro. J. K. Hornblow and suitably acknowledged by AYor. Bro. Cowley.
