Weraroa, at Weraroa, 1.30 p.m. LECTURE BY MR. PROUD. There was a good attendance all the Presbyterian Hall last night to hear a lecture on the rules of Rugby by Mr. J. Proud. Among those present were members of the local D.H.S. team. Mr. 11. Hutchins presided. Mr. Proud spoke interestingly on the main features of the game, conduct of players, powers of referees, etc. He made special reference to “off side” and “in touch” play. At the conclusion Mr, Proud answered a number of questions. Mr. Mason, on behalf of the D.H.S., moved a special vote of thanks to the speaker and a similar compliment was paid him by the chairman, on behalf of the Foxton club.
