MAN CUTS HIS THROAT

BECAUSE RAZOR WAS TOO BLUNT TO SHAVE. Invercargill, April 20. At the Bluff Magistrate’s Court, before Mr. G. Cruickshank, S.M., Arthur. Calder pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting suicide by cutting his throat with a razor. Sergeant Packer said accused made a statement to the police in which he said he had been drinking for some time. When shaving one morning he found the razor blunt, and decided to cut his throat instead of having a shave. Accused was remanded, and will icmain in the Borstal Institute until April 23, when the case will be beard in Invercargill.
