MELBOURNE BUSINESS MAN’S END.
Christchurch, Last Night
Edgar Clarke, described as an auctioneer and councillor, of St. Kilda, Melbourne, was found on the river bank on Saturday with his wrist deeply cut. He arrived in Christchurch on March 26 and remained in bed at the hotel for four days on account of illness. One witness described him as a bundle of nerves. Clarke was admitted to hospital, but collapsed before an operation was performed.
