WILL THE WHARF BE REMOVED?

In conversation with Mr. J. Linklater M.P. (chairman of the Poxton Harbour Board) yesterday, our representative asked whether the Board contemplated shifting the wharf to Rush Plat. Mr. Linklater said the matter had been discussed in an informal way by members. Personally he had always held the opinion that the wharf should be removed. Its removal however, would necessitate the raising of a, loan, but the expenditure of such loan would save the Board considerable expense in dredging and keeping the channel to the present wharf clear. He had no doubt that in the event of the wharf being removed the railway department would construct a light line to the locality, which would add to the popularity of the seaside. He could not say anything definite on the subject until the matter came before the Board.
