ROYAL PICTURES
Colleen Moore sustained serious injuries dilating the filming of her First National picture, “The Desert Flower.” While posing for the camera on a speeding hand car, the handle of the machine struck her, injuring her spine and neck. Work on the production was suspended t or six weeks, but the little star has completely recovered. The life of a movie star isn’t as easy as you may think. Colleen Moore has a beautiful home on Rossmore avenue, Los Angeles. Yet she lived in a box car on the Mojave desert for several weeks, recently, and took her baths under a railroad water tank “shower.” Comedy: “October Morn.”
On Friday a fine Picture entitled “A Gentleman Unafraid,” will be screened, this is a story abounding in romance, thrills and drama, it records the adventures of a bride on the eve of her marriage who is kidnapped, escaping from which she falls into the hands of smugglers. An enthralling adventure story that takes your breath away, there is also a fine comedy “The Isle of Sap” and another episode of the popular serial “The Riddle Rider.” “OLD HOME WEEK.” The combination that made picture history with “Back Home and Broke”—George Ade, author, Thomas Meighan, star, and Lila Lee, leading lady are once again associated in “Old Home Week” the leading attraction at the Town Hall Temporary pictures to-morrow (Wednesday) evening. “Old Home Week,” is the story of a small town character who isn’t held in very high esteem by his fellow citizens until the time of a crisis when he not only bewilders the natives in meeting the crisis, but becomes a hero. Like all George Ade stories “Old Home Week” has a fine comedy strain. A double reel comedy and the latest News are supporting pictures. Prices adults 9d children. 3d. Lovers of pictures with a thrilling plot are well catered for in “Romance Ranch,” the leading feature at the Town Hall on Friday and Saturday next.
