Tomorrow afternoon a further match for the Nye Ferns will be played between the holders (Barr’s rink) and a challenge four skipped by Bryant. MAN SON AND BARR CUP. Needing two on the last head to retain the Manson and Barr Cup, Tantrum’s Takaro rink, playing on Saturday against a Palmerston North Club combination skipped by Needham, proved equal to the occasion and won by 18 to 17. The rinks .were- Takaro: Tanner, Littlejohn, Morgan, Tantrum (skip); Palmerston North: Tremaine, Jones, N. H. Nash, Needham (skip). TAKARO CUP. Flint’s Takaro rink lost the Takaro Cup to a Shannon combination skipped by GagliardL The rinks were: Shannon, Morgan, Cronquest, Murray, Gagliardi (skip); Takaro, Free, Mundy, Ferguson, Flint (skip). DIXON CUP. Herdman’s rink (Feilding) sustained another challenge on Saturday for the Dixon Cup, defeating a Palmerston North Club by a close margin. The scores and teams were: Feilding: Ross, Clapham, Quayle, Herdman (skip) 23; Palmerston N. Kerslake, Moms, Paton, Crump (skip) 22. In the final stages of the game the Palmerston North Club team held a lead of several points, but Feilding on the last two heads scored enough to win an exciting game by one point. The Foxton Club are the next challengers for the Dixon Cup.
