CROQUET.
The sixth round of the Inter-club Croquet Competitions was played when Foxton met Northern at Palmerston North yesterday, and resulted in a win for Northern Club. Following are details; Northern players being mentioned first: —
Doubles: Mesdames Gambrill and Mayes, defeated Airs Pearson and Parkes 26 —13; Alesdames Brown and AlcLeod defeated Alesdames Ball and Bryant, 26 —8. Singles: Airs Brown defeated Airs Owen 229;6 —9; Airs Gambrill lost to Airs Woods 15 —26. Total points Northern 96, Foxton 56.
Results of the 30 minute tournament held last Wednesday were: Alesdames Perrcau 6A, Moore 6s, Barr 34, Owen 3, Huntley 3, McAlurray 2, Ball 2, Pearson I*, Aliss Speirs 11, Airs Woods 1, Aliss Wauklvn 4.
Handicap Singles:—All's Parkes (41), defeated Aliss Wanklyn (81), 26 —9; Mrs Woods (3j), defeated Airs Huntley (si), 26—17; All's Moore (si), defeated Airs Bryant (44), 26 —11; Airs Pearson (2s), defeated Airs Parkes (4£), 26 —10; Mrs Woods (3J), defeated Airs Ball (5), 26—16.
