BOWLING

Says the Levin Chronicle: —

The Levin Bowling Club appear to possess unassailable rights in their title to the Feathers. A rink, consisting of Mattar, Woods, Roore Nye from the Foxton Club returned home from Levin yesterday without any delusions but with a defeat of 22 to 12, at the bowling of Fyke, Inder, Clements, Jnr., and Suhan. The next trophy within reach of the Feathers’ quartette should he the Dixon Cup, at-present held by Feilding. Undoubtedly, they will meet with some stiff propositions in battling for that honour, but, in remembering the club’s record, local players have just cause for optimism insofar as concerns the outcome of an attempt to bring the Dixon Cup back to Levin. Yesterday’s game was fairly interesting, but at no stage did the visitors show any prospects of winning.
