GALA DAY AT FOXTGN
To-morrow, weather permitting, a gala day will he held on the local green, when visiting rinks will he present from Levin, Shannon, and I’aimers!on North Clnhs.
Bowlers and croquet [(layers are asked to bring a basket to assist with the catering arrangements, as is usual on such occasions.
Mr. J. A. Nash, president of the Manawalu Bowling Centre, in returning (In 1 thanks of visitors at the gala day held at Terraco End green on Saturday, mentioned that there appeared |o be a little misconception of what these gala days wore really for. The object was not for club t<> play against club, hut for howlers to meet socially and more particularly to give younger players life opportunity of meeting howlers who had a fairly wide experience of the* game. The next gala day had been fixed for Foxton on Wednesday after which there would he a postponement until the New Year when (he Centre hoped to give each Club a gala day before the end of the season. Mr. Nash also thanked the Terrace End club for placing its grounds at the disposal of the Centre for Saturday’s play.
