WEDDING.
MEADS—WILSON. A wedding of local and district interest was celebrated on Wednesday last, 9th inst., when Edna Helen Ann, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. II Wilson, of Marotiri, was united to Henry Havelock Meads, fourth son of Mr Z. and the late Mrs Meads, of Kata (Hunterville). The ceremony, which took place at the residence of the bride’s parents, at Marotiri, was performed by the Rev. Frank McDonald, in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends. The bride’s dress was of embroidered dove-grey erepe-de-chene and maroeain, with tunic of morocain and underskirt of crepe-de-ehene. The bride wore the orthodox veil, of tulle and orange blossoms. The bride was attended by her sister, Marjorie, who wore a tunic frock of floral crepe-de-chene, with underskirt of knitted erepe-de-chene and hat en suite. Mr Walter Jenkins, of Marton, officiated as “best, man.”
Subsequently over eighty guests sal down to the wedding breakfast charmingly arranged in a marquee on the lawn. The usual toasts and felicitous speeches were made. The numerous gifts, including substantial cheques, lestitied to the popularity of the young couple. The bride’s going-away dress was a nigger-brown costume, with hat of cinnamon brown, trimmed with lemon and green, and nigger-brown marabout stole. Mr and Mrs Meads take up their residence in the Hunterville district carrying with them the good wishes of a large circle of friends.
