The proprietors of the Merry-go-Round, which arrived in Foxton yesterday, are putting on a benefit for the Foxton Silver Band on Thursday night. Help your band along by buying a ticket from one of the bandsmen.*
RICHARD DIN AT CABARET. There is no hero, no heroine, no villain in “Men and Women.” That does not make it any the less dramatic or thrilling. The characters are men and women in a throbbing drama of Wall Street and marriage It tells the story of a young man who did not welcome the attentions of a wealthy man which were paid to his wife, and tried to outdo him. “Men and Women" stars Richard Bix, and features a strong east in support. This Paramount Picture will he screened at the Town Hall Cabaret to-morrow evening. Comedy “Step Fast,” “Children ot Holland" (scenic), and News. Cabaret prices.
On Saturday evening next .James Garwood's novel of the ever moving outpost of civilisation in Northern Canada, “The Hunted Woman,” is to he the leading feature. Sana Owen, Francis McDonald and Cyril Chadwick are the leading players. Usual prices.
ROYAL PICTURES. Replete with all the wholesome ingredients that go to make up a really line entertainment, “The Painted Flapper,” which is to he seen at the Royal theatre on Wednesday, will be remembered by many for its delightful cynicism in a cleverly pieturised burlesque on the present day American girl, topically termed the Happed. Every phase of modern gloom destroyers is injected into the story. In this extremely difficult characterization, Pauline Garon adds infinite glory to fame as an accomplished actress. James Kirkwood, who plays the part of the man from abroad, is ever prominent with his brilliant personality. Centuary comedy: “Almost a Husband." Usual prices.
Alternating training and acting was Jack Dempsey’s task when his series of light pictures was made at Universal City. A training quarter was established in the setting where “Merry-G'o-Round” (was made. When not before the camera, Dempsey trained for his Labour Daylight. Teddy Hayes, his trainer, remained in close attendance all through the series of pictures, the first which comes on Saturday to the ltoyal theatre.
MOUTOA ASSEMBLY DANCE. The Moutoa Hall Committee are holding an assembly dance in their hall on Friday evening next, December 11th. Music for the occasion is being supplied by H. George. Madge’s char-a-banc will leave the Eoxton P.O. at 7.30 p.m. for the convenience of Foxton patrons. Price of admission is only 2/.
ST MATvY’S CONCERT
The annual concert in connection with St. Mary’s Church will he held in the Town Hall on Friday next De.-emhor 11th, at 8 p.m. The children. have been carefully trained and this concert promises to be as successful as those held in the past.
