METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.

ANNIVERSARY SERVICES. The Anniversary Services in connection with the Methodist school, were a great success. The church was nicely decorated and, with the pretty dresses and happy faces of the children, presented a *pleasing picture. The congregations for the day were very satisfactory and the various addresses were much appreciated. The Rev. AfcArthur’s discourse upon “In-as-much” and his lengendary stories will be remembered by both children and adults for a long time. He spoke very encouragingly to the teachers of the school and to Air .R. T. Betty, conductor of the singing and complimented all upon the fine tone and manner in which the songs were rendered. Air. Roberts’ address in the afternoon was breezy and full of reminiscences of home in old Lancashire, and the manner in which the Lord had led him. He also commended the singing by the children and pointed out the morals of the songs to be learnt by the children. Rev. Peryman’s address in the evening was a somewhat unique one, being mind pictures of the story of the prodigal son, and was rendered in a rather unusual manner It will, no doubt, be remembered especially as an anniversary story. Master Keith Powell sang a solo very sweetly, which was much appreciated, and listened to with great attention. Much credit is due to Mr. R. T. Betty who conducted the singing. Mrs Peryman, who has presided at the organ during the practices and in spite of her numerous appointments, spared time to help so ably; Airs F. Chalk, violin, and Air. Harold Osborne Cello.

The Anniversary will he continued on Wednesday, December 9th., when a scholars’ tea is to be held in the schoolroom, and at 7.30 the Anniversary concert and prizegiving will lake place in the church. A good time is promised to all who attend as a good programme has been arranged. Tickets 1/-, children half-price.
