FOXTON FOLLIES AT OROUA DOWNS.
The Fox ton Follies made the trip to Oroua Downs last evening- and gave their initial performance under the auspices of All Saints’ Church The entertainment was well attended l>y Foxton and local residents and all the items were very much appreciated. The Follies, members of which were Messrs. Mason, Smith, Barron, Earl and Hinds and Mrs Barron, Misses Dent, Browning, McMurray, Easton, Spring and Cordon, gave part songs. Local “liils” caused great amusement and had to he repeated a! the end of the first half. Solos were rendered by .Messrs. Smith, Hinds and Earl and Misses Dent and Easton and a male quartette, consisting of Messrs. Mason, Barron, Earl and Hinds, rendered a very pleasing pari song. During the second half Mr. J. Ait ken and Mrs S. Barber contributed solos and Mrs Pederson and Mr C. Simmons violin solos. The remainder of Hie second half was taken up by a comedy, the performers being Mrs Barron and Misses Gordon, Dent and Browning. Miss E. Patterson acted as accompanist. After a tasty supper had been handed round, the hall was cleared for dancing.
