AUSTRALIAN LADIES’ PIPE BAND.

On Thursday night the Australian Ladies’ Pipe Band paid a return visit to Foxlon and was greeted by a good audience in the Town Hall. Tlie entertainment was one of the best that has visited Foxton for a number of years and the performers were all accorded flattering receptions. Drum-Major William Darwin, F.R.G.S., was roundly applauded for his vocal selections, all of which were his own comirosition, and his clever demonstration of staff swinging. Drummer ( Leura Bates had to respond to repeated recalls with recitation and monologue. The exposition of reel, jig and sword dancing by Pipers Oliver and Madson was of the highest standard and drew forth unstinted applause from the audience. Molly Innes’s vocal items and were also greatly appreciated as were the pipe duet and sjylo, and drum solo by members of the band. Some idea of the audience’s appreciation of the excellent programme provided by the Pipe Band can be gauged from the fact that not one item was allowed to pass unencored. The variety and excellence of the items will ensure a warm reception for the company wherever they play during their world tour.
