CHARLEY’S AUNT TO-NIGHT.
The sprakling comedy “Charley’s Aunt” will be staged at the Town Hall to-night by Mr. Warren Ward and his company of English and Australian artists. The comedy is full of Judicious situations and every movement brings a laugh. On the present tour, the company have received excellent notices on the merit of their performance, and this should augur well for a most entertaining evening. It will be very freshening to meet again, renew the acquaintance of the lady of Brazil, “where the nuts come from.” Scats may be reserved at R. L. Heath’s.
“MISS BLUEBEARD.” A word in five letters that means merriment. That’s an easy one for you cross-word puzzle fiends. Laugh! Yes you got it the first time. It applies to Bebe Daniels starring “Miss Bluebeard,” which screens at the Town Hall Cabaret to-morrow evening. The production is an adaption of Avery Hopwood's stage success of the same name and has in the cast in addition to Aliss Daniels, Raymond Griffith, Robert Frazer, and Diana Kane. The story is a love farce of a gay French actress who gets married and then discovers that she has not one husband but two. Supporting pictures are a comedy: “Short Change.” Australian Seaside Resort, and Paramount News. Usual Cabaret, prices.
Two popular artists in the persons of Shirley Mason and Bryant Washburn will he seen in tbe leading Him at the Town Hall on Saturday “The Star Dust Trail.” This drama tells of a young musical comedy actress whose love for luxury brought discord into her married life, and nearly wrecked it. Arrangements have been made for an early screening of Douglas Fairbanks latest success: “Don Q Son of Zorro.”
ROYAL PICTURES. A forceful story by Sir Hall Caine, and an all-star east which includes Conrad Nagel, Mae Busch, Hobart Bosworth, Patsy Ruth Millor and Creighton Hale, combine to make noteworthy Victor Seastroms lirsl American production “Name The Man!”, which comes Wednesday to the Royal theatre. “Name The Man!” is from the celebrated English novelist’s recent best seller. "The Alas ter of Aran.” It tells the .striking story of a young judge whose first act of office is to pass judgment on a girl he himself wronged. A brilliant cast, with gigantic settings picturing the ancient prison and castle on the Isle of Alan, and superb photography add to the perfection of the distinguished European director’s first Goldwyn production. It will make his name familiar to every picture fan in the country and help the films to come into their own as an art as well as an entertainmen. Comedy: “A Dangerous Peach.”
