THE GENERAL ELECTION.
WIIIEN WILL IT BE? “When will the general election lie held?" is a question which everyone is asking (says the Dominion. The question was asked last night at a meeting of the New Zealand Political Reform held at Ngaio. ATr. 1?. A. Wright, ALP., who spoke, could give no definite information on the point. The chairman of the meeting (Mr. B. Lynneherg), amidst laughter, hinted that the elections could not lie held during the second week in November, as that was the week of the Christchurch races, nor the third week, as that was the period o|' the opening of the South Seas Exhibition at Dunedin, “'flic election will have to he held in either the first week of November or the fourth week,” he remarked.
.MIL SIDEY TO STAND. Dunedin, September 14. Mr. T. K. Sidey to-night announced to his committee his decision to recontest the Dunedin South seat at the general election. LABOUR CANDIDATE FOR NELSON. The Nelson branch of the New Zealand Labour Party have selected Mr. T. Brindle to contest the. Nelson seal at the coming elections. Mr. Brindle has been president of the party for the past four years.
