DRUNKEN MOTORIST
DOCTOR LINED £25. Auckland, September 14. An Auckland doctor, whose name was ordered to lie suppressed, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, and pleaded guilty, to being drunk while in charge of a motor-■;-a r. Mr. I’ovnton, S.M., imposed a sentence of three day’s imprisonment. Defendant’s counsel pleaded for a line as in a. case last week against, another' professional man. Mr. Po, ynlon: “Yes, he was lined £2. But he damaged his car to the extent of £35.” Eventually, the Magistrate reconsidered the matter, and imposed a line of £25 in the present ease.
