The secretary acknowledges £1 2s (id from Mr. AY. E. Barber, and ss. each from Mr. Nye and Mrs P. Easton.
The committee hope for extra entries in the cookery section this show. Note the prizes for the family cake, (recipe given) 10/6, ss. and 2/6. For the fruit cake (recipe given) is given a 50 lb. hag of flour for the first prize, 2 lb. tea for second, and 2/6 for third. These items alone are worth many entries. Eggs are cheap now, so there ought to lie quite a number of exhibitors competing for the cook-
ery [mints prize. The decorative section is well provided for l>,v special prizes. The tallies, with and without embellishments have 10s. allotted to each sect ion.
As for cut blooms and bulbs, it is no use complaining about the weather. It treats the righteous and unrighteous alike, so put in your blooms, somebody has to get the prizes.
Mn SI is really wonderful value, —lO 6 for three blooms, red or red-stained cups. Mr Sliailer is giving this special to encourage this class of bulb.
The secretary will he upstairs at Ross’s Buildings on Thursday afternoon, 1 from 2 till 5 and from 7 till 8 in the evening. Late entries, taken at the hall on Friday morning, will tie charged I/-.
