DANCING IN CHURCH HALLS

A I CELAND PRESBYTERY’S OPINION.

Auckland, July 10.

A request for guidance whether dancing should be permitted in church halls was received from a suburban church by the Auckland Presbytery last evening. After some discussion it was decided to consider the matter in committee. On resuming it was almost unanimously decided to reply that it was not thought desirable that dancing should be 2>ermitted in church haUs. The opinion of a majority of the members appeared to be that dancing would be detrimental to the spiritual life of a church and would tend to lower its general tone.
