WEDDINGS
SIGNAL—HONORE. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the loeal Methodist Church on Tuesday last, July 14th, by the Rev. S. H. D. Peryman, when Mr William Edward Signal, youngest. son of Mr and Mrs Wm. Signal, was united to Christina Ellen, only daughter of Mrs and the late Mr C. Honore, all well-known and respected residents of Foxton. The interior of the Church was artistically decorated by friends of the bride, and above the wedding party was suspended a white floral bell. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr W. J. Honore, of Palmerston North, looked charming in a Parisienrie model of cream eharnieuse with apron effect beaded with crystal and clusters of pastel beads, and wore the orthodox veil, arranged with a double circle of tiny orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of freezias, carnations, winter roses and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Fairy Osborne, .cousin of the bride, and Miss Frances Honore, niece of the bride, who were both charmingly attired in frocks of pale blue satin with georgette waterfalls, fastened at the waist line with silver rosebuds, the former wearing a hat of silver lace with pale blue georgette rosebuds, and carrying a bouquet of daphne and carnations, t]ie latter wearing a hat of val lace and blue forgetmenots, and carried a posy of cream primroses. Mr C. Van Slyke, of Wellington, officiated as best. man. The ceremony was fully choral, Mrs E. J. Westwood presiding at the organ. The bride’s mother wore a black erepe-de-ehene braided costume, and black and white toque, and carried a bouquet of violets. The bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of black satin with beaded georgette overdress and black and white hat, and carried a bouquet of Harden bergis and asparagus fern. The guests were subsequently entertained at a wedding breakfast in the Town Hall supper-room, where the usual toasts were honoured and felicitous speeches made. At a later stage the guests inspected the handsome and useful wedding presents, which included several substantial cheques, at the residence of the bride’s mother.
The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a string of pearls, to the bridesmaids gold armlets, and the bride’s present to the bridegroom was a travelling rug. Later Mr and Airs Signal left by motor for the south, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s travelling dress wa-s a navy tailored costume and Coney seal coat, with black satin hat relieved with oriental trimming. DUDSOX—SHAW. The wedding took place on July Kith, at the residence of her sister, Mrs S. Upton, Kairanga, of Miss Marge Shaw, daughter of Air and Airs J. Shaw, of Wanganui, and late of Alarotiri, to Air W. B. Dudson, of Te Arn, and late of Alarotiri, second son of Air and Airs W. Hudson senr., of Alarotiri. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Father Doolaghty. Aliss AF. Wilson acted as bridesmaid and Air S. Wilson, (both of Alarotiri) officiated as best man.
