RAILWAY TRAFFIC INSPECTOR KILLED.
JIGGER. MEETS TRAIN IN CUTTING. Te Kuiti, Last Night. Mr J. Bremner, traffic inspector at Oliaknne, was killed by a special goods train from Hamilton, 1 : ( ! miles south of Otorohanga, at about 4.30 Ibis afternoon. Mr Bremner. was proceeding on a jigger toward Otorohanga when he met the train in a cutting as it was coming round a corner. Driver Malone applied the emergency brakes and the train was stopped promptly hut too late ;<> avoid a collision. Mr. Bremner sustained fearfu-l injuries and death was instantaneous. He was a married man with three children, the youngest six weeks old.
