THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COM.MISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 13th inst., reads: “Hemp, Manila markets improved this week. grade, June-August shipments as against October shipments sold £4l. Closing rates £IL 10s. Output of Manila from Ist January to Bth June was 540,000 bales as against 734,000 for the same period last year. Stock in Manila on the Bth June was 185,000 bales as against 100,000 bales last war. New Zealand market quiet with fair offered at £33 10s, JuneAugust shipment with sellers here lii pei- cent. less. Small business reported direct with New Zealand in high point, fair at T 35 iOs, fail in dock sold at £34.’
