THE WARRENS OF VIRGINIA
once again William Fox has taken a stage play and made a big picture success of it. This time it is “The Warrens (if Virginia,” a seven red drama holding pride of place in a line programme at the Town Hall on Saturday m-xt. The story of the “Warrens of Virginia’’ begins near the closing days of the American Civil War, and concerns one of those tragic yet beautiful love affairs, in which a soldier of the north loves a daughter of the south. The picture abounds with beautiful photography. Beenes made in and about, the old southern homestead are truly delightful. A great battle between soldiers of the Blue and tlie Grey is reproduced most vividly. Touches of humour add much to tlie entertainment value of the entire picture. Prominent in the east are Martha Mansfield Wilfred J.vtell and J. Barney Sherry. A comedy: “The Diving Fool,”
and the latest world’s news are other picirnvs. Usual prices. Banned by the continental police Robert Service’s story “Poisoned Paradise" has been filmed anil will head the programme at the Town Hall on Monday evening. This feature lias its loeale in Paris ami'Monte Carlo exposing the billers enormous gambling dens.
ROYAL PICTURES. To see "Skylight,’’ J. Perrin’s pel horse, in some of his amazing stunts, one must see the picture ••Rillin' West,” to lie screened nt the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. Between the actor and this intelligent equine there is tin unusual affection, and when the members of the po-se. in pursuance of the "lory, attacked Perrin, the horse, not in on Ihe story, immediately broke loose and rushed to his aid. By the time Perrin had rescued the men, and pacified his noble steed, the scene had been completely ruined and tin- actors more or less mussed up. A duchess and a countess! Real ones, too, Constance Talmadgc has both of them in the east of her latest comedy, “The Goldfish,” which was directed by Jerome Storm from (’. Gardner Sullivan's adaptation of tbe stage play. It is a First National picture, showing at the Royal Theatre on Saturday. If you waul a good laugh, see “The < loidtish.”
