Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 9th April, 1925: — ‘‘Frozen meat quotations (prices on a “delivered” basis i.e., including storage charges, cartage, tolls, etc.,) Down Lambs 28/42’s 12d per lb; best North Island 28/42’s 11 |d per lb; ordinary North Island 28/42’s llid per lb; second quality Lambs lHd per lb; best North Island Wether Sheep 48/64’s <Bi;d per lb; best North Island Wether Sheep 64/72’s 61 d per lb; ordinary North Island Wether Sheep 48/64’s B£d per lb; North Island Ewes.4B/64’s Gijd per lb; North Island Ewes 64/72’s 5H per lb; New Zealand prime ox beef 160/220’s 4|d per lb.
As compared with last week’s quotations, lamb is id per lb. dearer, ewes, 48/64’s, id per lb. cheaper, 64/72’s, id per lb. cheaper and beef id per lb. cheaper. The market for lamb is steadier. The market is weaker, for mutton, particularly heavy weight ewes.
