EXTRA RACING PERMITS.
LEVIN AND TAUMARUNUI FAVOURED. As tlie result of an application made some time ago, the president of the Levin Racing Club (Mr T. Bevan), bas now received advice from the Minister of Internal Affairs, that the Levin Club is being loaned an extra racing day for use in the current year, says the Chronicle. Some time ago it became known that, on account of some of the clubs who participated in the division of the twelve new permits allocated last year, not being able to ise them at once, these would be available for loaning to other clubs for this season, and an application was accordingly put in. The permit naturally applies to this year only, but it is felt that it strengthens Levin’s position when the redistribution of permits, which has been hinted at, is made. Taumarunui, April 6.
A totalisator license has been loaned to the Taumarunui Racing Club for a meeting in the current year. The management committee lias resolved to apply to the District Committee for May 13. The big races will be worth £2OO, and two other races worth £IOO each, over a miie, open, will be substiitetl for six furlong hack races.
