Ashburton, March 26. . Arriving in Ashburton by the slow train from Christchurch last night, a young man named William James- Moore, bent in spending his honeymoon in the quiet of a country town, was arrested as lie alighted from the train with his bride, and spent the night in the lock-up. This morning he was remanded till to-morrow on three charges of obtaining' money by false Hawera on December 30th, £4 17s } at Feilding on January Bth, 13s, and at Wanganui on January 15th, £4 Bs. The police stated that accused Ead just been married in the <Nortli Island. Bail was allowed in £IOO in his own recognisance and one security of £IOO. When arrested the accused had 2s 8d in his possession.
