“ST. ELMO.” Not since liis famous role in “Tim Count of Monte Christo,” ha* John Gilbert had n more convincing pari than hi- latest portrayal in “St. Gliim,” the feature attraction at the Town llall on Saturday next. The Fox linn have tlie knack of exi idling in ill oil’ adaptations to screen form of popular books and Augusta John’s “SI. Elmo” should add still another to.the linn’s imposing list of really big pictures. In addition to Mr Gilbert, the remaining characters are in the hands of fine si-lists ineluding Bessie Love, Nigel do Brullier, Barbara La Marr and Warner Baxter. Other pictures on Saturday’s programme are an Al. St, John comedy, “The. Tailor,” and the World’s News, l’rices as usual. Johnny Hines appears in another laughing picture. “Conductor 1492” on Monday. Also comedy, “Back to the Woods,” a novelty “If Matches Struck," and a l’athe Gazette complete a programme of variety. ROYAL PICTURES. Lew Cody, the most finished artist the screen has developed in years, will be seen at the Royal 'theatre to-morrow night in “The Beloved Cheater,” a Robertson-Cole production. “The Beloved Cheater,” as he is called, is the idol of the fair sex, and, different from most of that type, popular among his men friends. In act, he is in such demand that he is constantly being asked by his less fortunate brothers to give them advice in their love affairs. See him to-morrow night.
On Saturday night “Boy of Mine” will be screened in which Booth Tarkingtoii gives to the screen a story which proves this contention in a plot tilled with human interest: That no family is happy unless there is a perfect understanding between parents and children —especially between father and son. The east includes Ilenry B. Walthall, Irene Rich, RocklifCe Fellowes, Ben Alexander and Dot Farley. GRAND BALL. A grand ball will be held in the Koxlon Town Hall by St. Mary’s Church Social Committee, on Tuesday next (St. Patrick’s Day). Music of the best has been procured and patrons are assured of a good time. Prices are right, double ticket 7/(i, ladies 3/-, gents 5/-.
