ANTARCTIC WHALE OIL.
SUCCESSFUL NURWEGIAN EXPEDITION. Invercargill, March 9. The Norwegian whaling expedition arrived at Glory Harbour, Stewart Island, from Ross Sea. The Sir .Jas. Clark Ross, the mother ship, has 32,000 barrels of whale oil aboard, having had a most successful season. The large cargo is estimated to he worth over £200,000. The crew of 208 is reported all well, and no serious accidents occurred during the cruise, which lasted four months. The small whale chasers, vessels of* 800 tons, will remain at Stewart Island to relit during the winter, while the Sir James Clark Ross sails next week for Norway, returning in November for its third season in the frozen seas, of the Ross dependency.
