\ N'OLK’AN SYNOD'S PRONOUNCEMENT. Dunedin, February 6. The Anglican General Synod re--olvcd “That this General Synod approves of the action of the bishops, which in co-operation with the leaders of other large. Christian denominations. agreed to the policy formulated in Mr [silt’s Bill to provide for religious teaching in public schools; the Synod regrets the tail lire by Rarliairteht to pass the Bill and earnestly commends it. to the. people and Parliament, ’-of New Zealand, in the hope that it may speedily become Hie law of the land.” The Synod sel up a permanent commission to study the various dicceau pensions schemes and to consul! the best means of bringing them into line for ultimate amalgamation.
