FORGERY AND UTTERING.

Ashburton, January 26. Robert Thomas Beveridge, aged 32, who last week was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment for false pretences, was to-day committed for sentence for forging and uttering a cheque for £25 10/-. The man to 'whom the cheque was uttered advanced £lO on it. On a further charge of false pretences at Duntroon, by which he obtained a mare and a foal, the accused was remanded to appear at Oamaru on Wednesday.
