CORRESPONDENCE.
(To The Editor.) Sir. —As a parent 1 am greatly disappointed that the Borough Council has not safeguarded the lives of our children by providing swimming baths. Although parents warn their children against swimming in the river, the current olf which is very dangerous, should they get out of their depth, the temptation to go against their parents’ wishes is too strong for them to resist. If only a portion of the river was fenced in the danger would not be so great hut, surely, sir, if the Council had been in.earnest in this matter, therF was plenty of lime to have had’ the baths completed belfore the summer and so have avoided worry to parents and possible drowning. I hope those responsible will do something to Safeguard children who go to the river by forming a look-out committee to act within certain hours. -—Thanking you in anticipation, Yours, etc. ANXIOUS PARENT.
