NYE FERNS COMPETITION. At it recent meeting of Committee it was resolved that the Nye Ferns be made a rinks contest under the following rules: —An entrance fee of 2/- per player be charged for the season. Rinks to comprise two “A” and two “B” players. Rinks to be set up by selection committee. Selectors to handicap rinks after rinks are set up. Rinks to play in rotation as drawn out tirsl. The rink obtaining the greatest number of wins shall he de- ; hired the winners for the season. In the event of a draw, an extra head be played. No wins by default; holders to play next on the list. Any vacancy in a team shall be filled by consent of both skips. The Selection Committee, in accordance with instructions, have now declared the following rinks: — Spring, Walton, Thomson, McColl (s). H. Hornblow, Hollings, Woods. Christie (s). Powell, Mattar, Pearson, Nye (s). McMullian, McKeown, Whibley, Itoore (s). Parkes, Wjinstanley, Walker, A. N. Smith (s). Healey. Downes, Barr, Huntley (s). The drawing for the first round resulted as follows: —MlcColl v. Nye. Nye v. Christie. Christie v. Smith. Smith v. lioore. Roore v. Huntley. Huntley v. McColl. It is anticipated the first game will be yjayed on Wednesday 'next. WIL.FORD CUP. It has been decided that, as it would be difficult to carry out two rinks contests at the one time, the 'Wit ford Cup be decided by a oneday tournament —-probably during tin* coming holidays.
