ECHO OF WAIKINO TRAGEDY.

SCHOOLMASTER I‘ENSION ED. Auckland, Last Night. An echo of the tragedy at the W'aikino school last year was ljearcl at the Auckland Education Board’s meeting when a memorandum was received from the Education Department, suggesting that the headmaster, Mr R. T. Reid, who has been incapacitated since Ihe occurrence, should lie retired on superannuation with an additional pension from the Pensions Department as from the beginning of this month.

The Board decided on this course. Superannuation will be equal to the salary Mr Reid was receiving together with house allowance and all medical expenses.
