TELEPHONE BUREAU.
EXTENDED HOURS GRANTED.
Following on representations from the Foxton Borough Council and Chamber of Commerce, for extended hours for the local telephone service, the following letter has been received from the Acting-Secretary of the P. and T. Department by the Town Clerk (Mr W. Trueman).: — “In reference to your letter of the 12th inst., requesting that the hours of attendance observed at the Foxton telephone exchange be extended to 6 a.mi-midnight, I beg to inform you that authority has been given for the hours to be extended as desired. The alteration will be brought into force as .soon as the necessary staff arrangements have been made.”
